Rosanna Celebrates National Women's History Month

March is National Women’s History Month and all of us at Rosanna will be celebrating how much women have accomplished over the years. Women have come far (just under 100 years ago, women didn’t even have the right to vote!) and this month is a time for us all to acknowledge and honor the achievements of American women.

Here at Rosanna, we’re all about educating, empowering, and supporting women. This is particularly evident in our You Go Girl collection. “We thought about what we could do to give back to the community by doing what we do best – designing beautiful products while standing up for what we believe in: love, equality, and empowerment,” says Rosanna Bowles, President and Art Director at Rosanna. “That’s why the Rosanna team donates 10 percent of each You Go Girl purchase to Planned Parenthood.”

It seems easy to get swept away in our country’s climate right now, but this isn’t about that. Our You Go Girl line is about today’s women and girls who not only benefit from all the work others have done before them (Susan B. Anthony, Marie Curie, Rosa Parks, etc.), but can continue to make huge strides moving forward. Women have made some pretty fantastic contributions to science, health, politics, pop culture and the world and all of these contributions have made the world a better place.

“The inspiration for the You Go Girl line began three years ago,” says Rosanna. “I would talk to my daughters and the young women in my office and realize they had no idea how many marches and protests had to happen before their time so that they could vote, work, and generally be equal citizens.”

Most pieces in this line are influenced by historical events, from the Seneca Falls Convention tray to the Women in the Arts mug. Our Votes For Women design was inspired by the women’s suffrage movement in 1848. All packaging in the You Go Girl line comes with a brief description of the Seneca Falls’ Declaration of Sentiments.

Rosanna also has the Ladies Choice line. With mugs engraved with “Ladies First,” and “Vote Female,” to trays that say “I believe in me,” and “I run my own world,” Ladies Choice encourages women to know their worth and believe in themselves.

Lastly, Rosanna is proud to donate to the following charities that support and/or honor women: Girls Inc., Go Red for Women, Schools for Salone, Planned Parenthood, National Museum of Women in the Arts, Susan B. Anthony House, and the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum.

We hope you’ll join us and others throughout the nation in celebrating National Women’s History Month. If there’s one thing to say about the accomplishments of women, it’s this: girlfriends, we’ve come far and together we can go further.
